Preventing Fading Lipstick |

There are a couple key factors to consider when applying lip cosmetics
- The quality of product you are wearing. If you are using a store-brand lipstick, they tend to fade more than professional cosmetics.
- What you are using to line your lips. Many lip pencils will outlast lipstick any day of the week.
So how do we keep our lips looking great all day long? The secret is using a base for your lipstick. For years, Armando has used blusher as a base for lipstick. By simply patting your blusher on your lips with the Shading Brush, you give your lipstick more "fade-resistance". Another thing to consider is that some lip pencils go on so thick that the color overpowers your lip color after your lipstick has had a chance to set. A quick remedy is to use your blusher as a lip liner as well. Apply it with the Slanted Brow Brush and an added benefit is that it helps prevent any feathering or bleeding of your lipstick. Lipstick is important as the weather begins to cool. During the wintertime, the cold air outside and hot, dry air inside can leave your lips defenseless against drying out. Lipstick gives you some added protection by helping to hold moisture in your lips. *Note: please refer to Amando's site to see the Lipstick he used About the Author Armando has been a make-up artist for over 35 years and shares his knowledge about cosmetics and skincare on his site Make-up by Armando |
